Sunday mornings are “Come as you are”. Some folks dress up, and others come more casual. All are welcome. We always experience a quality time of worship with music and singing, prayer, and a challenging message from God’s Word. The service lasts about 70 or 80 minutes.
From September through May, Sunday school is from 9 AM to 9:50, coffee and fellowship from 9:50 until 10:10, and the service begins at 10:10.
From June through the end of August, summer service starts at 9 AM.
During the service we have multiple things for your kiddos.
*Any child 2 and under – nursery provided.
*Children older than 2 years – we have activity packets that go with the Bible text for that day, Activity bags, and Sermon Bingo (try to get Bingo based on words said by the Pastor during the sermon., and claim a prize in the church office.) Pick these up on the racks on the tall table or hanging by the tall table by the sanctuary entrance.
What do I wear?
The dress here at OHCC is fairly casual. There are some who wear their “Sunday best” while others dress more casually. Please don’t fret about what to wear, we simply ask you wear clothes.
What happens during the service?
We open each service with a worship song, greeting of those around us, and prayer. There will be a few more worship songs intermixed in the service (both contemporary songs and traditional hymns). During the service we also receive an offering but please don’t feel obligated to give. Giving to the ministry of the church and missions is asked of our regular attenders and those who feel led to give.
After the offering a Biblically sound sermon will be presented. Pastor Todd usually gives the message, with guest preachers from time-to-time. After the sermon there will be a closing song. There is an opportunity for prayer with ‘prayer partners’ after the service.
Some Sundays there is a children’s message or a children’s church. On the information table there are coloring and story packets for children to enjoy and learn from and to take home.
**On the first Sunday of each month communion is served. The Lord’s table is open to all those who claim Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Gluten-free wafers are provided at the left-hand communion station.
How big is OHCC?
OHCC has about 100 active members with around 130-180 regular Sunday attenders. We have several active kids’ and youth programs. Please see the weekly calendar in the bulletin for more Youth and Children opportunities.
